He tortured them for 9 hours. Listened to them beg for 9 hours. The victim’s last words were praying for his soul and telling him Jesus loved him. This man was psychotic and evil. Letting people free or giving them a stay of execution is for people who have new evidence that could change the case or were wrongly convicted. This man was not. He was rightfully put to death. I might feel sorry for his family, but I feel even worse for the people who suffered by his hand.

People who are offended are…not getting the point or properly contextualizing it for a 90s TV show. This was the first show that not only centered around gay characters, but tackled gay issues. They had the first male/male kiss on television, just 7-8 years after the worst decade for the gay community. I was SIX and I remember how big of a deal it was.

This was a marketing decision that would trick closed minded people into actually watching it. Anyone who wasn’t a homophope was well-aware that Will and Grace were never going to get together because it showed nothing but a supportive, healthy friendship. The onus was on the viewer to believe they would fall in love. I am so happy to have grown up with it.

As for Barrowman, he was “too gay” because they wanted him to play Will, who was more level-headed than (the iconic) Jack Mcfarland, the more stereotypical and overly flamboyant of the two. They still could have hired a gay actor but their intentions were genuine and I’m sure if it was on air today they would have made that decision. Either way, it not only showed that it was acceptable to have shows about gay people and their lives, but how they were just regular people with the same problems as straight people; they could have the same friendships as straight people; they could be just as funny or feel the same heartbreak as straight people; but there were also things gay people went through that straight people would never struggle with. It paved the way for every lgbt show since.

I've seen a lot of hate for compilation fics. I didn't know this. But, what I want to do is a month long prompt list, one fandom, one pairing, for a small fandom/pairing. 31 different fics would be 2.5 pages of just my <500 word work, not including other things I've written for this pair. The tag isn't updated often, it wouldn't just flood the tag, it would drown it. That's got to be more annoying than one fic, right? I don't have a wall of tags, and I don't really care about read/kudos count.

Readers don’t hate the fics, they hate the format. 

Posting separate stories as if they’re one story makes it hard to:

search for fics based on word length

reread the one story about of 30 that you want to reread

filter out your notp without missing stories about your otp

find the one chapter out of 30 that has your rare pair in it

find or filter based on ratings, warnings, tropes, or other tags

You can’t do much about the first point on that list but if you do end up posting them all as chapters in a single fic, you could at least reduce some of the rest. You’ve already said that it’s all for the same fandom and same pairing, so that’s good. You could also create a Table of Contents page that people could go to in order to find the story that they’re looking for. Include the titles and the basic plots and link to the correct chapter from there. Chapter titles can also be really helpful for this. 

I’ll let people with small fandoms weigh in on whether they’d rather have a compilation fic or a lot of short fics in the fandom tag. I’m a big fan of posting each story as a story rather than a chapter, but I’ve definitely posted oneshots together in a single fic before too.

Small fandom fan here, personally I'd be thrilled if we randomly got 30 odd new fics to look through :) I would probably ignore it if I saw they were all clumped as one story though, I find that difficult to get through.

If you really want to group them together, a series or collection might be a good idea :)

I just want to add that as a mod for a fic finding blog, compilation fics make it hard for us to search too—especially if a person can only remember a small chunk of the story. Posting fics seperately saves our lives. 🙏❤️

Sadly, your apparently better off with a sleep deprived doctor who has been treating you since you were admitted than one who is fresh but took over your case partway through your stay. So much gets lots in the handover that its worse than the sleep deprivation.
