A Dye Job : Fergie, Leighton Meester, Sarah Michelle Gellar & Kate Bosworth

Before you go against your better judgement and totally disregard the idea of tie dye, have a look at our 36Magazine for a few tips on creating your own ombre version and ways in which to wear the trend in 2012. Ombre tie dye is no longer a hippie style trend, in the past few seasons we have seen celebs like Fergie , Rihanna and Gwen Stefani all rock skinny tied dye denims. While other celebs like Leighton Meester and Sarah Michelle Gellar have both worn a tie dyed dress on the red carpet. Although SMG later admitted that her two year old daughter had picked out her Monique Lhuillier dress for the Golden Globes this year. Kate Bosworth was our surprise tie dye-wearing celeb, somehow we thought she was about it all. But here she is  in cargo skinnies, strappy sandals and a tie dye vest. Casual and cool we think she pulls it off in style ( oh and is that a backpack we spot). 36Boutiques bids farewell to Winter : Kristin Cavallari, Zoe Saldana, Cheryl Cole & Miranda Kerr

We bid farewell to Women's Month and winter today, we are extremely excited about warmer days and the bold and fabulous fashion. One of our favourite pieces from winter is the denim shirt. Easy, comfortable and trendy, the denim shirt is what we call a transitional piece, it works well in winter and almost better in summer. Take a look at these celebrities and the ways in which they style their denim shirt. Kristin Cavallari , Zoe Saldana & Cheryl Cole all pair their shirts with black bottoms, while Miranda Kerr looks comfy in leather trousers and ballet pumps. She wears her denim shirt over a lightweight jersey, a great way to layer in winter. Whichever you  way you prefer a denim shirt will carry you through all the seasons. 2012 36Boutiques WOMEN OF STYLE : Basetsana Kumalo

Basetsana Kumalo is our fifth and final 2012 36Boutiques woman of style for the month of August, as voted by you the public. We did a bit of digging and it seems that Bassie is quite the style icon already. Having been voted the most stylish female magazine/entertainment show host by Sunday Times and ELLE Magazine 2002/2003 . In 2004 Bassie was also voted as one of the Top 10 most glamourous women in SA by Femina Magazine. Cape Town Fashion Festival named Bassie their Fashion Icon of the Year in 2006. Not to mention all of her awards for a being an inspired Philanthropist, Bassie was named as the Celebrity Role Model at the You Spectacular Awards in 2009. After years in the spotlight, Bassie has her pick of the South African designers, and has been spotted in designs by Gavin Rajah, David Tlale and even young Gert Johan Coetzee. We admire for Bassie for so many reasons and the fact that she is well dressed is just an added bonus. Well done Bassie on all your achievements including 36Boutiques Woman of Style for 2012.

2012 36Boutiques WOMEN OF STYLE : Esmare Weideman

Here is a face you may recognise , Esmare Weideman, the CEO of Media24 is our third woman of style, as chosen by 36Boutiques. Another woman on top who has helped changed the role of media in South Africa. Having earned her stripes as a journalist, editor and media manager, Esmare knows what it takes to run a huge corporation having worked in the industry all these years. She had this to say about her role,   “I know what it takes to find a fresh angle, to explain a complex issue in words that will benefit a specific market. I know what creativity it takes to produce a really good glamour shoot or food story. I think it’s great to have someone at the head of your company who knows when your publication goes to print.” After a brief stint at Fairlady, as the deputy editor, Esmare got the call for the Editor position at You/Huisgenoot in 2002 where she remained at the helm for 3 years. In 2011 she accepted the biggest job offer of her life, as the CEO of Media24, she had this to say, “I do understand the responsibility that rests on my shoulders, also to represent women in journalism at its highest level. I hope I will make them proud.” And so she does , and although she may miss the making those tough editorial decisions, her position as CEO is crucial in changing the way woman are perceived in media management at the highest level. Women like Esmare are shining stars in the industry; tough, determined and with a clear idea of the role they want to play in society. As a mother, Esmare and her family have had to make a few tough sacrifices in the past, but she is grateful for a caring husband who continues to stand by her side. As yet another woman who has contributed a great deal to the South African media industry, we salute Esmare as one of our Woman of Style (and substance).

That Summer Feeling with G-Couture : Kate Winslet, Katy Perry, Victoria Beckham & Nicki Minaj

G-Couture have just launched their summer range on 36Boutiques,complete with a few big and bold colours! Our favourite item being the colour block dress, and now we know you may be sick of hearing about it since colourblocking has been around one season too many, but here at 36B we love the summer feeling we get from bright colours. Celebs like Kate Winslet have used colour blocking strategically in ways to streamline their figure. Kate in this Stella McCartney dress is a knockout, the placement of the colours gives the illusion of an even thinner waistline , while the colours are neutral and therefore not overpowering. Katy Perry wore this two-toned dress earlier this year and paired it with blue hair and striped heels. Victoria Beckham in VB proves that even colour blocking can be edgy as she pairs her dress with Louboutin pointed toe pumps with the leather leg piece.And of course we need a bit of crazy colour on a Monday and you can always count on rapper Nicki Minaj to provide some kind of crazy to any outfit, we like that she can define colour blocking with one dress.
