Why: took payment but didn’t deliver the service, zero communication, blocked for asking for an update

Explain:

Back in November BarkingJester opened commission slots for half body monsters of a dragon in exchange for an egg. I messaged them to make sure they had still slots open, and after confirmation sent them the egg.

It was never communicated, but after a while Barkingjester stopped posting art on their tumblr and instead posted the finished commissions on their deviantart page. You had to go to their tumblr page to find this out. I mention this because they explicitly said they’d be uploading their completed works on their tumblr.

They completed several commissions in this time, but as time went on the completed commissions slowed down, the last completed piece being uploaded in February.

No new pieces were completed as far as I know, and in this whole time BarkingJester never bothered to communicate a single time to let me (and probably others) know when to expect to see the art we payed for.

On April 3rd I messaged them for the first time asking for an update. No response. They were actively feeding their dragons every day, so it’s not that they just haven’t been around. I’ve waited about 10 days before messaging them again, this time directly on their profile reminding them I sent them a PM a bit ago and if they could please respond to it. I’ve had people forget to reply to a PM before, so it didn’t seem rude to poke them again.

Today on 16 April, I wanted to check on them again to see if they’ve been around the past few days. Lo and behold, I was blocked. I would post a screencap of the message I left them on their profile, but they deleted it.

I am now out of an egg and waited almost 6 months for nothing. I’d advise the other commissioners that see this to ask for a refund, but they’ll probably just block you too. Avoid.

Hey, I'm the person that submitted the negative review of barkingjester. I just wanted to say that you added the wrong art screencap to the review, as I believe the human headshot is just personal work. The last completed commission would be the work right next to it, the tundra boy with the wolf skull that was done on the 13th of february.
