I mean, it’s better than the Dreamcast controllers in a lot of ways, but it still only has one analog stick input, which has these very harsh plastic ridges on it that start to feel like sandpaper if I play for more than an hour.

And there’s just, like... so much empty space on the controller. It’s twice as big as it needs to be.

Calling it a bad controller is a bit harsh, as I think it’s more comfortable in your hands than even the Xbox Duke controller, but it’s definitely not a good controller.

Understanding the AlphaSphere

The Alphasphere is one of those instruments that leave people baffled and confused on first glance.  You look at this thing and you think of a few things – one of them is a disco ball light accessory, and the other one is a soccer ball.  The last thing you think of is a musical instrument.  The creators of the Alphasphere obviously knew that their idea would be revolutionary, but they never had any idea what the general public would think of it or how they would react.  Based on the design it should be clear to see what the developers were looking for when they built it. There is one good aspect about digital and electronic musical instruments that are hard to compare against other acoustic instruments.  That happens to be the idea of cost and price range.  Take something like an automobile for example – it has a purpose.  No matter how expensive or inconvenient the car actually is, it is expected to get you from point A to point B.  Aside from that, you can do it in style or you can barely get by, the choice is up to you.  Electronic instruments of the day do not have a purpose in mind like you think.  You cannot buy gear and expect it to mix music for you. x, y, and pressure sensitive controller i stumbled on a few weeks ago via Roger Linn's site. completely passive, meaning there are no electrical parts inside the instrument itself.
