Sanji is one of the most complex characters in One Piece. As a genderqueer lesbian, this homophobic/transphobic joke is horrible, making me rethink everything about him. I've read comments on reddit, some analyses, and posts here. Most say that toei animation exaggerated the "joke" and that it doesn't seem to be the same in the manga. Is that right? I really love him and it makes me very sad when he behaves that way
