Leon - The Professional - Alternative Movie Poster by 3ftDeep
Well, as mentioned before, this image has given me a real headache. Mainly due to not being able to make the original idea I had work the way I wanted. I gave up & did this instead, which I'm pretty pleased with. I like the fact that Leon & Matilda aren't in it : ) and it mostly relates to Stan. Anyway, I hope you like the outcome.
Howls Spirited Neighbor - Studio Ghibli Poster by 3ftDeep
Just a quick rendering of an idea I had to appreciate my 3 favorite Studio Ghibli films: Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away & My Neighbor Totoro. I was going to include Laputa too but thought this worked better. I hope you like it : )
Long time no ...
... well ... anything really.
It's been a strange, limbo'esque (©me, if that's a new word) time for the last few months.
I've still been in quite a poor creative funk. I moved my office, which I was really looking forward to but still don't have it 'comfortable'
I also misplaced my wacom pen in the process & still can't find it : (
However, what prompted me to write this note today was the fact that I sold one of my prints to Bad Robot (J J Abrahms Company) today, which I'm really honoured & flattered about ... unless they wanted it to cover a hole in the wall, behind the fridge, in the basement or use in a 'how not to design a poster' presentation ; )
I sincerely hope they like it.
My Leon poster was (as the title suggests, which is also an obscure link ; ) featured on the CreativeBloq 'Design Spring' iPad app and on the CreativeBloq website. I'm always very happy when my work is appreciated by others, so thanks very much. : )

Do you know, I sometimes get annoyed by the 'Olly Moss Hysteric Syndrome' (previously called the 'Rolling Stones Syndrome': when a certain level is reached, people with go mad over anything you do, no matter how good / bad it is. Way too much hype IMHO. This isn't Olly's fault BTW (or the Rolling Stones) But not everything they does is great. How could it be? (once again, IMHO - I'm just jealous that it's not me ; )
However, this 'doodle' he recently posted reminds me just how talented he is. Minimalism at it's greatest.
As far as I know, it's individually scanned ink brush strokes, edited in Photoshop. Wonderful.
My hat is doffed in Olly's direction.
After much deliberation, I've decided to open an Etsy shop for my posters (as well as other stuff) www.etsy.com/shop/3ftDeep I'm not sure how long the movie inspired posters will be listed, so make the most of it whilst you can. I've started adding stuff today (23rd Aug 2012) and will keep doing so but if there is something you'd like but don't see, please let me know. Thanks very much for all the kind comments I've had regarding my work : )
