Brothers Safari, Sabri, and Sakhri live with their parents in a cozy 2-bedroom apartment. Their parents immigrated to Threhan from their home country shortly after their second son was born and currently reside at Hivenest “Luxury” Apartments, a huge building and home to many other out-of-towners. The three brothers are all bilingual and insect themed.
Eldest son, Sakhri, is the smart-aleck of the family. As the oldest he feels entitled to getting things first. He resents that his younger brother has wings while he does not and will sometimes tease him about it. Sakhri and his youngest brother have more in common with each other personality-wise and will team up against their brother for pranks and good-natured ribbing.
Sakhri doesn’t like to engage in activities that don’t directly benefit or interest him, and he is no stranger to complaining. He was briefly in the military but was dishonorably discharged because of his unusual hobbies. He has since been doing temp jobs, mostly labor and construction related.
Sakhri is a practicing witch. He will shut himself inside the laundry room/closet to engage in private rituals. His parents disapprove, and his brothers are a bit uncomfortable and embarrassed by it. Despite dabbling in the dark arts, his magic has yet to cause any real harm. In fact it has mostly proved to be helpful.
Sakhri's theme is the potato beetle.
Awkward middle son, Sabri, in contrast to his brothers, is a quiet daydreamer. He is actually quite pensive, but he has trouble staying focused and his mind tends to wander. He doesn’t say much out loud unless he has an important point to make. His family’s used to this and understand him fairly easily, though others can find him to be a little hard to read. Occasionally Sabri is mocked because of his small stature, and at times he might feel insignificant and disconnected from the world. He can easily be offended and surprisingly vicious when provoked.
Sabri has a strong sweet tooth, and though he doesn’t eat a lot of food, it is mostly junk. He tends to go through sugar highs and crashes, alert and energetic at one moment and then ready for a nap awhile later. He’s attracted to tall girls and girls that remind him of sweets.
At first Sabri was inspired by his older brother to join the military, but things didn’t go as planned. After assisting the local police with the capture of some criminal schoolmates, they told him that the force could use more guys like him. He ultimately joined the police academy after high school and is the youngest policeman on the force. Among his fellow officers Sabri is known for being kind of spacey. He has the strongest friendship with Officer Denny. He has a pilot’s license and is a much more competent flyer than a driver.
Sabri is unique among his brothers for being the only one with wings, a rare occurrence and recessive trait that comes from his mother’s side. Traditionally in their culture wings, tails, horns, and any other uncommon physical characteristics are removed at childbirth. However, Sabri’s parents decided against it and left their sect for another in Threhan.
Sabri’s theme is the yellow jacket, though he can‘t stand actual bugs. They creep him out.
Youngest son, Safari, is opinionated and talkative, a bright and inquisitive elementary school kid. He’s a bit of a loudmouth. When he is with his quieter brother, Sabri, he tends to speak for the both of them. Safari gets along well enough with both brothers but has more in common with the eldest, Sakhri, and is easily coaxed into teaming up with him to mess with Sabri.
Despite that, Safari still looks up to Sabri and thinks of him as somewhat of a superhero. Some day Safari wants to fly around and fight crime the way he imagines his brother does, even though he doesn‘t have wings himself. He will sometimes pretend to be a caped crusader when playing around in the apartment.
Safari’s theme is the monarch butterfly. He has short hair with a very long, distinctively shaped cowlick.
