HC: Age vs Respect
Everard does not discriminate towards a vampire's age in the Blood. He believes respect has to be earned and through his lifetime found that more often than not young ones speak more common sense than perhaps those over a millennium in the Blood.
This stems from the fact he has lived under the rule of Rhoshamandes, who is this old ass ancient, but also under the rule of Armand who was perhaps a year in the Blood. Both ruled just as fiercely and Everard recognises power, charisma and manipulation are not related to age or strength. Armand would perhaps even have killed him more easily than Rhoshamandes would have, simply because there are no personal feelings in the way. And it's things like that that convince Everard that age does not matter at all. If a conviction is strong enough, youth could easily outshine old age.
Also all his lovers (except for David) had completely stolen his heart and impressed him with their intellect and kindness while being 'mere' mortals. He loved and respected them more than he would anyone with ten times their strength or age if they're complete arses.
Within the Coven he has just as much appreciation for David and Daniel, who are babies compared to him, as he has for Pandora and/or Bianca who are much older than them. It's so simple, really. Just be kind and treat him like an equal and he will be way less disagreeable than one might think.
