I’m going to do Veselko with this one cuz I never talk about her enough! Which is a shame cuz I put more thought into her then Corvo.

Veselko is a sad and lonely character but after meeting and joining the 8th she starts to see that humans are good by nature and there’s outside forces that make people abusing and using pricks.

So due to this revelation and being pushed by mainly Ikon and the 8th to be a better person then what she was yesterday she’s got a strong case of “I am fueled by the power of friendship and this gun I found!”

So she actually gets a happy song where she’s basically thanking her friends. Cuz she’s healing and growing up because of them.

This song fits the whole first Veselko Nether fight with Beam cuz this is the first time we sort of see at least a crack through her playful demeanor. In this scene she’s genuinely showcased as being a smart and clever Fire solider that can gain a quick grasp on another’s pyrokinetic ability and how to utilize it better. Every other moment before this is mainly her dicking around with very little explanation.

We also get to see a bit of her borderline self loathing with her own ability and how it’s annoying to use because it requires her to get injured to use it.

Veselko is fundamentally suppose to give off the vibes of a character who’s struggling with finding a reason to power on through the difficulties that life throws at her. She’s ultimately at the point where she dislikes how used she is both from prior workings with Haijima Industry as a test subject to go through college and from her previous family life where they only remembered her if they needed somebody for something.

She wants people who will show her what being actually loved is like and that’s ultimately what powers her through the night and back into the day. It also the reason why she’s so fiercely loyal to the 8th.

She is suppose to be a goofy and fun character but with an underlining sadness will always be there in the background.

Oh boy this motherfucker has a TON of lore, his own GAME based around him and his lore, AND a bunch of other shit going on with him

sparknotes version is he was a king, and his wife died, and he was so full of grief he went a bit insane trying to bring her back from the dead. When he DID find a way to do so she came back wrong and killed/cursed him to become this fucked up evil shadow guy, and plunged the place they were in into darkness, which became the Shadow Isles, and it's denizens became fucked up evil ghosts. Viego then woke back up and tried reviving her AGAIN, cloaking MORE of the world in shadows and corrupting more people, doing other evil shit etc etc to bring his love back. So the man has dead wife syndrome so bad but it's okay he can be fixed gsdhfgh

That triangle on his chest is also? kind of a scar. That's where his wife stabbed him (with his own sword) to kill him and turn him into the ruined king. He's rich with lore and also he is so fucking hot bro
