I consider this song one of the central themes of Third Occurrence. With Shadow's abilities allowing them to see the events of different realities, they gain an understanding of which outcomes have a higher chance of occurring across the multiverse - And with that comes the ability to predict what will occur in their current reality. They want to protect everyone by using what they know, but there comes a point where they change so much they can't be sure what the future holds anymore. They want to know more, they have to know more - but then again, they hardly know anything about themself or their own past.
