This was a very important series and fantasy world for me. While I had seen other fantasy movies before, they had all been directed towards kids. These movies showed me that fantasy could work for all ages. Then when I began to do research on Middle Earth and JRR Tolkien I began to see just how deep a fantasy world could be. It had almost as much history as the real world has. The DVDs of the movies had so many special features and for the first time I was interested in learning about the author of a fantasy series. It was amazing to see how Tolkien was able to bring his real life experiences with life, love, war, children into a fantasy world.
