Bahs-i visâlin oldu nice sebze-zârda Alınma sevdiğim söz olur çün kenârda
I love that when Narek is throwing rocks at La Sirena, Rios instantly says, "I know that sound."
Implication: he's had rocks thrown at his ship before.
I’ve been spending a little bit more time in the astral than normal lately. I’ve been craving silence and stillness, and I recently remembered a place in the astral that I liked to go to meditate. It’s a crystalline lake in the mountains that is perfectly still. I go there and try to become as still as the water.
Also... I haven’t really seen my pixies, Strix and Trixie, around much lately. I spoke with them today after meeting with Prince, and I figured out why. First off, Spring is completely underway now, and the Fae Court is bustling and lively, so they’ve been a little bit preoccupied with that. But more importantly, they’ve just been bored as hell lmaoo. They said that I haven’t had anything new going on in the physical realm, or anything interesting or new people or anything and they’ve just been extremely bored, so they’ve just been keeping an eye on me from elsewhere.
I laughed and explained to them that the human world is kind of shut down at the moment, and they shrugged. Prince does the same thing, actually; the fae don’t particularly care about the ongoings on the human world. Some do, very much, others get intrigued, and others get bored and will go and explore or play tricks. But for the most part, they see the ongoings of the human world as boring and trivial.
I haven’t been putting as much time into my school/studies as I have been last semester. Sometimes I feel like maybe I should be doing a little bit more, but... I recognize that I’m actually quite busy with my Path, and that it’s okay to have my attention and energy into that and elsewhere. It’s just a shift in perspective that I am trying to get used to.
I think that that’s it for now... I hope that everyone has a good evening!
Blessings!
we stan a fucking acrobat????
Eyyyoooooo the episode’s called The Shining and they did the shot!
So Akudama Drive episode 9 was pretty good, it’s really enjoyable seeing the absolute fucking trainwreck that these characters have gotten themselves into, my god. Swindler causes max civil unrest and public executions by vigilantes because of a fucking 4chan thread, Hoodlum and Doctor fuck, and the fact that Cutthroat is a deranged murderer is now actually a problem for Swindler, it’s great. That being said I do think that the very supernatural explanation for his sudden need to kill Swindler now, and the fact that he can tail her anywhere pretty much, feels a bit contrived and random. I still had fun with it though. It made me once again real annoyed by TV censorship laws too. Definitely gonna rewatch this show once the Blu-Rays are out. Also I can’t get over how amazing a seiyuu Tomoyo Kurosawa is - her screams this episode are fucking blood-curdling, she actually sounds afraid that she’ll die at any moment, like she’s screaming for her life. King shit, she’s so good.
So yeah, fun episode.
Great interaction
Anyway Higurashi episode 10 was another solid one. This is another episode where quite a lot of time is spent getting fairly little information, but I didn’t mind since A) it’s all new and B) my god does this episode nail that uncomfortable atmosphere, holy shit.
Just for a TL;DR on new info, Satoko has actually previously lived with her uncle, and also her aunt, and this was when Satoshi was alive too. They were as abusive as we expect. Aunt got fucked up so uncle fled form Hinamizawa, and that’s what gave Satoko her little break with Rika. And now he’s back for whatever reason. However, Satoko has previously lied to Child Welfare Services about her birth dad being abusive so she could get rid of him, so there’s not been much in the way of them helping her in her actual abuse situation.
Like I said, not loads, but it all hits pretty hard. I really like the sort of, boy who cried wolf situation going on with Satoko and the Child Welfare Services. I think it frames Satoko as not being like, perfectly innocent in all of this - her past actions were irresponsible and have come back to bite her. Obviously that’s not to say she’s getting her just desserts for what she did - god no - but Higurashi is a show in which these characters have been shown to fuckin kill each other and shit, I don’t think we’re supposed to unconditionally root for them no questions asked. We’ve still not actually seen Satoko say or do anything as outwardly fucked up as the rest of the girls have, but we’ll see if that does end up happening or not. I’m honestly super unsure - maybe her being the least popular is because she doesn’t have those wild evil moments that the other girls get with their glowing eyes and shit, who knows. Again, we’ll see.
They also make a suggestion that Satoko’s present abuse is already worse than what she suffered in the past, as now she doesn’t have Satoshi at home to protect her. Fair enough. And while the horrors of said present abuse haven’t been directly shown, their impact on Satoko is uh
They’re certainly clear as day. This little episode she has is triggered just by Keiichi - someone she knows and trusts - just going in for a little headpat, something he’s done to her before with no problems attached. Evidently the like, one or two days she’s spent with her uncle at this point are completely fucking up even just her normal interactions with her friends. Poor girl.
I can’t claim to be well researched into abuse - I’m not a victim myself and I can’t claim to have had any experiences with people who I knew to be victims. But I still just feel like this episode felt quite real - the tone feels messed up in a way that’s hard to place. The different reactions from Keiichi and Mion’s anger, Rika’s sadness, Chie-sensei’s like, it’s also sadness but it’s a more adult sadness, I can’t put it into words. And of course just, the clear trauma for Satoko. It leads to an episode that’s uncomfortable to watch in the best way possible.
Not sure what else to say, cool time. The fact that I lost 6 followers and got anon hate because I called for rape to happen in a show where we have seen these children’s corpses on multiple occasions even though I think rape would thematically and narratively fit with how Satoko’s character has been established is dumb, bye.
