He does :3 or at least he used to. He only made promises to the employers in the past, and those are her siblings! Of course he'll keep the promises, she loves them!
That changes after she gets attached to the SQ. Promises to employers don't carry weight anymore. Her friends are the only thing that matters now

If he's told he's gonna die, he's not taking it seriously. Yeah, it's Nevada. Duh he's gonna die, and duh Doc's gonna bring him back
But if he's told it's his last day existing? He'll spend it with those he cares about. Try to make them a few things to remember him by, maybe. Carry Geroge everywhere. Maybe have a movie night. He'd tell the others, if they didn't already know. Just in case any of them have anything they want to say. This doesn't feel real, but Doc mentioned an acquaintance vanishing into thin air so who knows

How long does it take for Diesel to come to terms with the protectiveness it feels for Genesis? How was the transition for it, from semi-mindless obedient machine (metaphorically) to "this Creature is sad and wet and I'll kill anyone who even looks at it wrong"

Technically? About as long as it took for them to walk from the hallway Genesis was in back to its room. Maybe an extra half a day for those feelings to simmer
But the change was basically instantaneous. It's not that Diesel stopped being an obedient machine! It still obeyed all rules.... For a while, until it realised the agency wasn't a great place for Genesis. But the protection kicked in full force after that first conversation
New fellas dropped. And they're both experiments
