Crazy that theres two movies that hit top box office in 2026 that feature a sad middle aged man having the worst time of his life in outer space because a woman names E/Ava investigated a red biological substance that was somehow linked to the disappearing stars and forced said middle aged man to go research it far out of reach from all human contact with little to no chance of survival for the fate of all humanity but the sad middle aged man is actually maybe not who he really thinks he is because his past is weirdly hidden in some way and then found an alien species when he really wasnt expecting to that changed his life forever but the alien species also helped him discover a bravery he never knew he had within himself.

Even crazier that one is a buddy comedy and the other is pure cosmic horror

ANOTHER little tidbit for this stupid lil thing.

The Batfam believe that Damian is a meta of some kind.

Why?

Because of Danny.

Danny acts like the eyes on the back of Damian's head, which Damian is able to just explain away enough that he has great spatial awareness. Cool, yea, they could take that. The fact that the temperature drops whenever Damian is around? Okay, that's somewhat alarming.

How he's able to stay in the air for just a second too long that always him to hit the ground safely? How a few times he looked like he was briefly stopped in said air before being let down?

That's... A bit hard to explain but the Batfam aren't going to pry considering he was new to the family.

How he never seems to need to charge his phone, or any other electronic device? Of course, it could be explained away that he just charges them in his room or out of sight... If his charger didn't look like it wasn't used at all, that is.

Just... Various little things that Damian could explain away, but keep piling up until the entire family comes to the conclusion that Damian was a meta, if the League and Damian himself knew this or not is the question.

Alfred finds out that such is not the case.

Why?

Because Danny, absolute child that he was and still is since his death, very much loves Alfred's cookies (and who doesn't.) and got impatient to get some and couldn't wait for Damian to swipe some more for him (since Alfred forbade Damian from taking anymore before the rest could get any).

Alfred was the only one who entered the kitchen at the time, and it did indeed puzzle him to see cookies disappearing into thin air.

Mu Yin is more fickle. He's unpredictable and gives blessings only when he feels like it. The type to only help others when he wants to--entirely his choice. He's playful, happy-go-lucky, and would rather go with the flow rather than change fate. He also Shape-shifts way more than Mu Yang.

Mu Yang is more "cruel". I said before he's fascinated in the resilience of the human condition and how humans can survive despite...bad things happening to them. He also likes playing what is essentially the trolley problem with humans (the deals he offers comes with a price equivalent to the morality of the situation.) It's all so entertaining to him. Mu Yang shape shifts into different animals to observe these "fun" humans more easily.

He's also wishy washy in who his misfortune targets. But he specializes in grudges, so people often pray to him for help anyways.

Now, as for when he becomes obsessed with his human (the fun part):

Due to his chaotic nature (and perhaps a few disgruntled people) he was sealed away in a black jade statue within a box for about 400 years. Until you came along and somehow undid the seal (uh-oh). He became fixated on you afterwards. Why did you do it? Someone like him...who only brought misfortune.

It wasn't an accident. Surely someone can't be that dumb, right? The box appearance just screamed "if-you-open-me-you-die."

He watched...and waited. So so curious.

Then he saw you trip on nothing. Then again.

And again. This time dropping all the things you were carrying onto the ground.

Interesting. It wasn't even his doing.

Suddenly, it all made sense. You must have tripped and undid the seal.

He laughed. How funny! He wanted to watch you...more and more. This poor soul who's just oozing bad luck, and he's not even the cause of it.

Never in his thousand years of existence had he met someone so unlucky.

He smiled. He so enjoyed watching you stumble around like a little fawn.

It also made him wonder. Where was this bad luck coming from, if not from him?

And if he concentrated his misfortune onto you...

What would happen?

And so he did.

Expecting some catastrophic disaster....but..hm?

What happened?

A lottery ticket happened to fly your way, smacking you in the face. The numbers all winning.

Oh he's grinning now.

So it cancels out?

He's going to have so much fun with you.

Finally, something good after 400 years in that stuffy box.

But there's a dilemma. It won't do for his fawn to get distracted by notions of help and good luck. No...not if it's not him causing it. He loves watching you struggle....

And he loves being the only one who can help you.

If he can't cause misfortune onto you then...

He'll just have to do it to everyone around you.

And eventually, he'd love to show himself to you. Only because he wants to see the look on your face when you've reached rock bottom, and...

Beg him for help.

Since he's the only one who can.
