she can feel her hands sweating, instantly feeling like a teenager, running around to sneak her first kiss away from any grown up sight of view. instead, she hears the muffed crowd, the quick whispers between assistants running up and down, the sharp sound of instruments being tuned in the background. it wasn’t her usual scenes, until very recently. a friend of a friend who managed to get them tickets the first time, a company she was happy to have for the very few days she managed to get away from being a mother, until that friend became a partner in crime to the nights she wanted to let loose. except tonight was a little more complex than that, a face popping into her head the moment she’s passed the backstage sign, drying her hands against her jeans as she hears voices talking excitedly, spotting him just as he sees her. it was clear this party wasn’t for her, she was in one of the bands for the festival, she wasn’t part of the crew. still, the text he’d sent the previous night sat heavy on backpocket, a reminder that she was somehow welcomed here. / @loredrops
