Thread stepped into the foyer, his eyes quickly adjusting to the ethereal light inside. His heartbeat felt distant (he guessed it was on account of being dead) but it overwhelmed his senses. He tried to shift his focus- he took in his surroundings. It was a beautiful area, one adorned with paintings atop a lustrous staircase, an intricate rug he walked carefully on as not to spoil it, and a chandelier with jewels and gems that refracted a strong white light around the room.
There were others here, too. They muttered to themselves about having to wait so long to start, leading Thread to wonder how late he was to all this. Now that he was just standing and waiting, all of the feelings that he ignored earlier were welling back up inside and he struggled to keep the thoughts under. This whole dying thing is actually pretty overwhelming! Who'd have thought? He hopes Citrus didn't have to go through this too. In other news, the people in the foyer looked... interesting. Thread had never seen such a variety in species. There was someone with leaves for hands (do they have to water themselves...? Wait, don't be insensitive, Thread!), but they had even cooler glasses. A little bit away from them was what looked to be a bunny? Rabbit? Hare? He mentally facepalms over his inability to tell animals apart.
Just as his self-induced and unnoticed embarrassment began to get to him, all noise in the room halted.
His ears twitched and directed themselves towards the only sound - footsteps atop the stairs.
A cheerful yet commanding voice announcing a great big, "Hello, to all!" filled the room and he couldn't help but do a polite little wave back.
