for ellen, i find this one sooo interesting because she was told to keep to a very traditionalist structure of playing hockey, but like quinn for example is known for his spin-o-ramas!! like it can't be talked enough that the biggest skills all the hugheses have are from her, be it skating or creativity

oh that is interesting anon thank you! and I agree. I think she should get all the credit for the players they are today, and I'm sure they play more like her than they do anyone else.

this isn't really your point so my bad for putting it on here 😭 but what's exhausting (and expected) is the story gets spun as her being "supermom" or a great "hockey mom". very much putting the emphasis on her domestic caretaking rather than seeing it more like coaching (which I suspect would be the better descriptor)
