Got a chance to see once again the most beautifully abused pair of Iron Heart 634SR’s that I have ever had the pleasure of repairing. If you’ve been following since the beginning I’m sure you’ll recognize these!
I’ve seen these 3 times over the past 3 years, and it’s been such an exciting experience to watch them develop and age over time. Also amazing how the repairs age over time with such heavy use and abuse. On a level probably only I am interested in, it’s fascinating to me to look at the repairs on these because I’ve learned so much each year I repaired them. My techniques changed and improved during the years I worked on these. And with so many repairs, my stitching is rivaling actual denim on these, and the remaining denim is actually deteriorating around the repairs!
These are retired now, so I won’t be repairing them again (at least for now), but these are holy grail territory as far as faded denim goes, and definitely a legacy piece for me. Thank you MJ for letting me see these and photograph them one last time! Keep them forever!
