Review: I’ve been doing a lot of accidental reminiscing lately, as this is another fic that I believe to be one of the first I ever read of this pairing. It’s been so long that only a few key things stood out to remind me that I had indeed read this before. A fan favorite and a charater that I wish was canon is the adorable House Elf Rink, he deserves a separate mention all on his own (and while I’m at it, so does Little Sev). I really love the “old magics” that are used in this fic, and I love the various S.N.O.R.T antics that Hermione and Rink get up to. Also, the back-and-forth of Severus trying to teach Hermione critical thinking is really brilliant in my opinion. This fic was written over the course of 8 years and you can really see the growth in writing from the very first chapter to the final battle sequence. I thought it was wonderfully put together, and the only downside really is that there is no actual *action* between Hermione and Severus until almost the very end of the story (Chapter 47 out of 49 to be exact). This is definitely a must read, at least once, if you love this pairing.
