I've been natural for four years and I haven't seen much hair growth at all. I know I suffer from breakage so when my hair does grow it loses it's length quickly. I wear my hair in protective styles: braids, twists, wigs, and try to deep condition and wash my hair once a week. I'm feeling extremely discouraged. I love my hair texture, but I hate that it can't grow, and that I honestly don't know what to do anymore. I need help! Any advice?
Hi hi!! I have 4c hair too and usually keep it braided, I'm not natural, I straighten it every now and then, but to grow it make sure it's moisturized. I use: Wild Grow, Doo Grow, or the Olive Oil ORS. Make sure you clip your ends often, it makes a huge difference trust me!!! I clipped my ends like a month ago and my hair grew like half an inch! Make sure your not leaving the styles in too long or it'll break off!
Sleep with a humidifier if you can, tie your hair up at night, sleep on a satin pillow case, trim dead ends, and if all else fails, look into shorter styles that frame your face.
When you separate your hair make clean cuts. Don’t use products with alcohol.
If youre into diy, try an Overnight condition (made a huge diff for my hair). and include the water from boiled Rosemary leaves into your routine.
You aren’t the only one , for our hair type oil really helps , coconut oil, Jamaican castor oil even Shea butter! Makes it softer! Sometimes your hair isn’t even breaking off it just dry. Took a long time for me to realize that ! Protective styles help but keeping your hair moisture is key! Oiling it everyday and protecting it from sun . Little combs sucks, that takes away! I’ve seen and learned to use really bug combs and even hand detangle. I’ve been natural for almost 7 years and my hair is just now growing how it’s supposed to grow!
