Day 64
Introducing Alexandria Darlene Aviles. #january31st #37weeksgestation #4lbs11oz #18incheslong #sleepy
Oh no I didn’t have an #epidural but boy did I ask for one a second before I pushed. I did a quarter pill of one drug to get me crampy, and then I had a ‘drug tampon’ in for 12 hours to get me nice and soft. I was a 3 cm when we started #pitocin at 10 am. By 6 pm I was at a 6. Then the #contractions were one after another and I asked the nurse to explain the IV pain medication I was really really considering. ‘I’ll go get Andrea (midwife) but... I just think you’re doing so good’ she whispered as she kept a monitor on baby. Andrea came in at 620 to check me and I was at a 9. She asked me to try and push. I gave it all I had and more and baby’s head fell into her fingers. Dad jumped up and the whole room turned into a surgery theatre in 2.5 seconds. 3 minutes, two more pushes later, a dark purple lil thing was born. We were going to delay the cord cut but she wasn’t movin as they liked. They plopped her onto my chest and a bawling daddy cut the cord. Right before they whisked her two steps away she looked me right in the face, threw her hands up, and screamed at the top of her strong little lungs. The whole room engulfed into soft cheers. Welcome to the world baby girl. Thank you for doing so so well with the #induction. I’m sorry you had to come so early. We were so excited to meet you and you’re everything we expected and more. #4lbs11oz #18inches
