Affectionate Medic Headcanons!

For my moot @weezerbluu

-As said before, either all the PDA or none at all.

-However, when he is in the mood for PDA, he wants as little space between you and him as possible.

-Hugs, stealing kisses, linking arms, resting his chin on your head if you’re sitting down, light touches on the shoulder, hand, thigh etc. just to let you know he’s near, definitely picks you up and just carries you around the base sometimes, laying across your lap

-Enjoys listening to you talk about your interests.

-Food as a love language

-He’s a scary good cook. If he doesn’t know how to make a dish that you want, he will find the recipe. Sometimes he’ll surprise you with an extravagant meal just because he can.

-He freaks out over the littlest injuries, not because he thinks you’re incapable of taking care of yourself, but because the thought of you being in pain hurts him.

-Takes extra care in treating your injuries, kissing each of the bandages when he’s done.

-Reads to you sometimes! His English isn’t the best so when he struggles with words, he tends to get flustered, but your reassurance calms his nerves.

-He talks nonstop about you to the other mercs when you’re not around. It’s become a running joke with the others to not mention your name in conversation because Medic will go on a ramble about how lovely you are.

-“Ah, y/n? Oh ja, I am very fortunate to have met them.” And other dorky drivel.

Sick Day Medic Headcanons

(Aka Mun is sick and wishes there was someone who could take care of him)

Medic’s Sick

He hides it so unbelievably well.

If he has noticeable symptoms, he’ll try to play them off as anything other than illness.

Quarantines himself under the guise of needing alone time to work on experiments.

You would have to force him to rest because heaven forbid he takes a day for himself.

“You absolute dumbass. Please rest up. It’s the only way you’ll get better.” /lovingly

Only really lets the facade fall once he’s alone.

If you catch him at this point, he’ll begrudgingly accept your help. He’ll complain about it the entire time though.

He does really appreciate that you’re there and willing to take care of him.

You’re Sick

My god, if you so much a cough when this man is in earshot, he’ll be all over you.

He may be busy, but he’ll find the time to take care of you.

Occasionally uses more natural remedies in conjunction with medicine to help relieve symptoms. Personally believes that there’s a balance to be found between natural and non natural treatments for many illnesses.

Makes your comfort food, preferably from scratch.

Bundles you up somewhere cozy, usually his bed, and makes you something warm to drink.

Won’t let you go back to your duties until your 110% better.

Really short, but I had a bit of inspiration strike and thought ‘why not!’

More Misc. Medic Headcanons (feat. Scout & Heavy)

Both Medic and Scout have connective tissue disorders that lead to a lot more injuries than the other mercs. Scout has the most issues in his knees and ankles while Medic experiences the most issues in his wrists. Medic helps Scout wrap his limbs before matches to keep things in place. He has also fitted both Scout and himself for specialized braces to further prevent injury.

He’s eaten human flesh out of straight curiosity before. He wasn’t going to use it for anything else, so why let it go to waste?

Autistic/ADD

Unless it’s super obvious, sarcasm goes over his head. He will answer sarcasm 100% seriously if he doesn’t realize.

Talks with his hands, a lot.

Has an auditory processing disorder! While it’s not as noticeable to him when he’s in his lab or talking with others on one one in a quiet environment, as soon as he gets out on the battlefield, it gets bad. Between the general noise of battle plus everyone yelling at him/trying to talk to him, it just becomes incomprehensible. This has cost him some lives, both his own as well as his teammates, but he’s too embarrassed to ask for any help.

Medic has Borderline Personality Disorder, and at one point or another Heavy became his favorite person. It got in the way of their relationship for quite awhile, as Medic’s unmanaged symptoms made him extremely obsessive over Heavy. No one really noticed at first, passing it off as ‘Medic being Medic,’ but it did eventually get to a point where it was detrimental to both parties. Through proper communication and support from the others, Heavy especially, he was able to get his symptoms under better control. It still gets bad some days and he really beats himself up for it. He tends to seek comfort and reassurance from Engie and Heavy.

Miscellaneous Medic Headcanons

In No Particular Order

Was put in his school’s music program when he was little and absolutely hated it at first, but eventually it grew on him. He made it his mission to play all the weird instruments. He’s proficient in Violin, Tuba, French Horn, Bassoon, and Oboe. He also learned some Stand Up Bass, Clarinet and Viola.

Archimedes and the rest of the doves/pigeons are descendants of carrier pigeons from WW2. Medic adopted two bonded pairs at the end of war and kept them as pets. Part of the reason he keeps them is to keep the legacy of wartime carrier pigeons alive.

This man uses lab glassware as water glasses and plays Russian roulette with weather or not it’s actually water. He’s accidentally drank various poisonous chemicals more often than he’d like to admit, but he also refuses to label his glassware.

100% PDA or none at all, there’s no in between, and it’s on his terms.

Enjoys listening to others as much as talking. He may not understand what you’re talking about, but if you’re excited about it, he’ll be too.

Pays special attention to things you show interest in when you’re out so that he can come back to get them for you later.

Has records upon records of 50’s big band jazz. He has attempted to teach some of the mercs how to dance with varying degrees of success.

Actually knows how to cook and occasionally will make some of his family recipes for the team.

Very detail oriented. He tends to notice small changes in the people around him, but usually chooses not to point them out for fear of embarrassing the person or pointing out something that should’ve been left alone.

Unintentionally blunt 90% the time. He doesn’t mean to be rude or mean, so he gets confused when people point it out.
