At the start of the year I made new art for The Beast is a Beauty AU for 4oUr and promptly forgot to post it anywhere after posting it on Patreon lol This piece helped figure out what more of what I want out of making this story. Lyly was right all along; this will be more a book of illustrations than what comics normally are. It will be like glimpses into a story. I was already planning on making it a silent comic (no text) so maybe this was inevitable.

Part of what makes this story important to me is that each illustration I make for it is relaxing and peaceful to make even when I end up struggling with some part of it -like the foreground bushes here.

I'll take this opportunity to explain my current other works if that's okay :3

Mori the Webcomic is a diary comic that posts weekly -sometimes bi-weekly. The past few years have left me with little time so I had a few hiatuses. I'm currently back at it and have several weeks of comics cued. I post that one on @morilucidstories on Tumblr (I post all of my original works on that blog btw) but this comic is also on tapas and Webtoons canvas.

I posted a JJK lucid dream a while ago and I'm working on a trilogy of chapters that is the same story as that dream but from the boys' perspective and actually ends the encounter. I'm on the last chapter in the writing process which is all stuff that would happen after the dream ended

I know I've mentioned Lyly a bunch in my Magi fanfics so I I don't need to introduce my editor sibling here. I bring them up because the 2 of us have a collection of characters and stories we call 4oUr (sometimes 4oU_r) (pronounced "fou" or "4" depending on ✨vibes✨). The characters and many of the stories all originate from dreams we've had so 2 of the characters are based very directly on us. There are 2 stories I've been working on to actually post that are 4oUr.

The one in development hell is The Beast is a Beauty. The intent is to make a silent comic (no text) that should be between 10-20 chapters max. As the name suggests it's a twist on a Beauty and the Beast type story. Albhe is stuck in the form of a dragon, and has been like that for so long he basically forgot he's human. He ends up forming a magical bond with Nera that will eventually lead to him being able to become a person again. I use #biab for that. It's stuck in development hell because I can't decide on some aspects of the art direction

And lastly, Demon Lord AU. It's based on a dream I had a decade ago. A 3 person party adventures to stop the Demon Lord from sending his creations to ransack the country side. And the whole thing is a time loop! I'm almost done the lucid dream chapter which will act like an in medeus res prologue type of thing.

I've been thinking about Demon Lord AU again. While making this I realized that the Mage's carriage never had an animal pulling it. It moved by their magic alone!

I used this piece to test out the rainbow brushes I've been making. I think you can see the hue shifts in each stroke easiest where the light hits on the characters and the wheel in the BG
