Aha Moment Week 5

Learning about the five base flavors in all foods was really cool. The five flavors are salty, sweet, sour, bitter, and umami. My favorite of the flavors was the umami flavor. It sort of tastes salty but with a buttery flavor that blooms in the back of your throat. Maruchan Top Ramen uses MSG which imparts the umami flavor into their broths. I had never recognized umami as a flavor before this so it was really interesting to learn it exists.
