I keep thinking about that '51 hours left to live' thread that I found earlier and it's really hitting me in so many ways. One part that keeps getting me is that this guy is 40 and he's ready to leave this planet. Now I'm not naive and I realize he has cancer and is dying and this is for the best, but he seems so content with everything. His proudest moments are graduating college, the only thing he wants to do now is make a youtube video, these are such simple things and it's awe-inspiring to me how okay he is with all this. I keep thinking about my life. I know I can't compare his life and mine parallel, but I can think about how in 20 years I'll be his age. I don't by any means only want to be here for only 40 years, but I want to be that content with myself eventually, whether it be at 30, 40, 70 or so on. I want to be okay with life in that sense, that I know I've done things I'm genuinely proud of and that the only things I have left to do are things so simple. I'm on my way to graduating college and I've made my fair share of youtube videos, and obviously my accomplishments and desires will be different then his but still. Just reading through this makes me want so much more out of life - for myself and everyone around me. It really opened my eyes and shows how little time I (or anyone else) may have left on this planet. I might as well do what I think is best, you know, should stop worrying about everyone around me and just live. I think one of the most incredible and inspiring things about someone is knowing that they feel like they've fulfilled thier life, that they are content and that they are proud of themselves. That is something to reach for in the next few months, years, decades even.
