Thanks to the brainrot that was this weekends grand prix, I present you chapter 5 (or 4.5, however you want to see it) to 543 days!!!

Tell me, why are they practically the same person? Is it just me? Like the boys have Cars and Lightning McQueen and that's alright, but Logan's clearly not Sally or Cruz.

Research paper anon!!! Great to hear from you <3 how are you, how is the paper? Are you making progress?

So I have to preface this that although I love to explore the topic of gender in motorsport, I'm not very knowledgeable on the F1 Academy girls, since I'm not too fond of the whole women-only series concept, that being said... yeah, Logan would have female racer friends but I think not that many.

I'm not telling anyone anything new when I say that being a woman in a male dominated field means relying on chance meetings or actively participating in women-led initiatives and even then you're more likely making "work friends" or acquaintances than close friends.

with logan rising through the traditional ladder, chance meetings are what she relies on the most and so I think our darling logan definitely knows the Al Quabisi sisters since she raced in the UAE and and Marta Garcia from her karting days. Also Jamie Chadwick and Tatiana Calderon who were performing well competitively in British F4 and F3 around the time when Logan was active there as well.

Those are all women that logan has met, whom alongside she competed on one or two occasions, with whom she spent some time, exchanged numbers, but didn't get to know them well enough to see as more than "work friends".

But i also see two drivers she would form friendships with. One being Sophia Flörsch who also competed in the 2020 F3 season, so they have ample time to get to know each other. funnily enough, they were both born in december 2000 (also i just realized i lied with saying Logan was the first woman to score F3 points, it was Sophia one year prior 🙈).

Logan's second female driver friend would be Lia Block imo. Having seen the good morning america appearances OG Logan and Lia did, I think they got along pretty well, seeing they're both American Williams Academy Drivers, plus Lia's dad was very well known in US rallying. For 543 days, it's giving besties.

Was finally able to catch up on the latest 543 days chapter (busy schedule meant I missed the update email T_T)!

Loved getting into Oscar's POV and seeing how his relationship with AU Logan developed, really looking forward to how he reacts to her at Prema! It felt very "Right person, wrong time" for Oscar and his feelings for Logan if that makes sense? Hopefully he gets out of his own head and asks her out soon!

I know you said you were struggling with who to pair Logan with a while ago (if I remember correctly, if not disregard) but I hope you stick with Loscar! As much as I love the Liam making Oscar jealous and vice versa scenario, Oscar is still who I'm rooting for!

I'm so happy you liked the little throwback (Gentlemen, a short view back to the past...) it really is right person, wrong time. didn't realize myself until now hehe, also the right time will still be a long while into the future unfortunately... F1 drivers do have the habit of never staying single for long...

At the moment, I'm set on Loscar although i LIVE for resident short king Liam and tall queen Logan....could make this into a companion piece tho, what if Logan picked Liam over Oscar...you always get me thinking <3

Hi Nonnie!

I'm so so sorry i'm so late to answer and i should never ever promise anything anymore :S

BUT i can proudly report that in the grand scheme of things, things have been looking good to get the next chapter out soon.

tbh i started writing this fic to cope with Logie getting dropped and vowed to give him (and myself) some sort of closure by getting literary revenge but i completely skipped the step of outlining where i wanted to take things before i surpassed 10k words.

that's what kept me busy/stuck in writers block the last almost one and a half years since i couldn't think of how to continue this quest, keep it (somewhat) believable but still engaging for the reader.

the last two chapters were already some sort of copout with writing Loscars' backstory from Oscar's POV and then harping on about their reunion for 3.5k words.

but i'm finally done with outlining all of the major story beats from 2020 to 2026 as well as with chapter planning for the next two seasons and started writing chapter 7

again i won't promise that it will be done at a specific date but it will hit AO3 sooner rather than later < 3
