Ten x Rose on a fantasy planet meeting a unicorn for the first time. *smirks*
So here’s the thing y’all -- I could make this cute and fluffy. But dear Lisa here sent this to me in an effort to make me write fluff as revenge for the horrible angst I just sent her. She thinks I can’t make this angsty.
Watch me prove her wrong.
They land about two hundred years too late, as always.
What had once been a beautiful, straight-out-of-a-fantasy book planet had been ravaged by nuclear war (well, not quite nuclear, they had evolved past that, but nuclear was the easiest thing to equate it to that Rose would understand).
The Doctor realized his mistake the moment they stepped out and saw the barren wasteland. He was already turning to grab Rose’s hand and pull her back inside when a beastly animal appeared out of nowhere.
A unicorn, as a matter of fact. A horribly mutated unicorn with darkened fur and glowing red eyes, but a unicorn.
And before either of them could do anything, it was chomping down on Rose’s arm.
Things were a bit of a blur after that. The Doctor saw red as blood flowed from the wound and Rose screamed. And he was pretty sure he kicked the mutated monster. He did something because it whinnied loudly (a sharp, shrieking sound), and reared up, running away.
The Doctor quickly ushered Rose into the TARDIS as she clutched her arm, gasping in pain. “It’s okay, it’s okay, it’s okay,” the Doctor murmured, hurrying her to the med lab. It would be okay.
As long as there were no side effects from the bite
