Now, there was absolutely no way that was allowed. Tigers? Cubs or not, seemingly well-behaved or not, out of everything strange in this city filled with impossibilities, this was where Weiss was drawing the line. Even if they were trained or something, at least an adult should be looking after them! She couldn’t leave that be, and she walked up to the kid who had them with him with her hands on her hips and her eyes narrowed.

“Are you sure it’s safe to have them around like that?” She narrowed her eyes, not breaking eye contact until she turned to look at one of the tigers. Well… they were cute. She wondered if maybe she could pet one…

But they were still tigers.

He had witnessed some pretty extraordinary stuff since setting foot in this city, much weirder than what he was accustomed to at Yumenosaki. He had seen people materialize objects seemingly out of nowhere, as well as the transformation of simple objects into something much more remarkable. At the very least, these people didn’t seem dangerous, despite the magic they possessed. 

So when he notices a small tiger cub following him, he assumes it was somebody’s magic pet too. That’s what usually happens in magic-fantasy fiction anyway. Naturally he makes sure to keep a distance, after all it is a tiger and he didn’t want to accidentally overstep any boundaries.

“You should scram,“ he talks as if the cub understands human speech, “your owner is probably worried... And I don’t want to be accused as a pet stealer.”
