In chapter 6 the “Fleet of Doom” storyline form the 1980s Voltron crossover movie is revisited with a VLD twist.

Also, haven’t you always wanted to see Keith and Lotor fight a duel? In this sword fight, their words are as sharp as their blades.

A preview:

Lotor raised his sword for a running overhead strike and as Keith prepared to block his opponent’s blade, Lotor kicked him in the midsection. Suddenly winded, Keith fell and was momentarily stunned.

“You are beaten, half-breed!” Lotor jeered at Keith. “Prepare to die.” Lotor held his blade perilously close to Keith’s throat as he lay sprawled in the mud of the nightmare swamp.

Keith entangled his legs with Lotor’s to trip him then sprang to his feet, reclaiming his fallen sword.

“Half-breed?” He asked, dodging Lotor’s clumsy attack as the prince struggled to regain his footing. “Look who’s talking!”

Lotor attacked him again with even more fury than before and Keith deflected every blow with a fluidity and grace that the undead prince struggled to match.

“You’re hardly the warrior who won the Kral Zera,” Keith taunted him.

“I’m still the man who won Allura’s heart,” Lotor replied with a wicked grin.

“With lies and deception?” Keith would have drawn blood with the slice he made to Lotor’s abdomen at that moment, but the zombie-like creature before him didn’t seem to have any...

A Collaboration to Celebrate the Five Years of VLD Mini Bang

Hi, all! June 10, 2021 is the five-year anniversary of Voltron: Legendary Defender first airing on Netflix. To celebrate, I joined the Five Years of VLD Mini Bang and had the privilege of collaborating with the wonderful and illustrious artist, @cieltee22. They developed a super fun and amazing artwork to align with my story! It was great working with them on this project! 

The Merry Misadventures of Voltron’s Five Original Paladins

Story Summary: It’s been many quintants since Alfor, Zarkon, Trigel, Gyrgan, and Blaytz agreed to a galactic alliance. Alfor has taken to recording their adventures as part of an ongoing status report to his vassals. In doing so, he reveals that the galaxy’s most fearsome leaders have some terribly mundane quirks and weaknesses, and that their warrior’s bond is transforming into...friendship? Rated T.

In Chapter 5, “What Dreams May Come” the Paladins return to the Dream Dimension, but this time they won’t have to face their personal nightmares alone.

Hunk has the heart of a lion in this one.

There’s 💚💙Plance and ❤️💖Kallura in this chapter. Here’s an excerpt from the fic, featuring Garrison Trio teamwork:

“Okay, so how do we defeat a swarm?” Lance asked as he blasted another robot fighter. He was already targeting another one as it exploded.

“We could blanket them with high-powered microwaves to disrupt their electronics,” Pidge mused aloud.

“That’s only going to work at a close range,” said Hunk.

“Lance, modify your heat ray to the frequency that I’m sending you, then get ready to blast them, but only when they are within the calculated perimeter that I am sending you,” said Pidge.

“Great. So how am I going to get all of them to fly that close to me?” Lance asked.

“Leave that to me and Hunk,” she replied. ”Get out of their visual range behind the flotsam from that skull ship that Hunk destroyed.”

The Green and Yellow Lions flew in attack position against the swarm that was harassing the Lion Force Voltron. One fighter drone hit Yellow Lion with a powerful energy beam, and Lance’s scanners indicated that Hunk’s Lion appeared to go offline, floating dead in space.

“Hunk?! Are you okay buddy?” Lance called to him, unable to disguise the panic in his voice. Even powered down, Yellow had the toughest shielding of any of the Lions, but half of the swarm was now simultaneously trying to destroy him. He didn’t know if Yellow could take that much firepower indefinitely. “Hunk?”

“He’s okay,” Pidge reassured him. “Watch.”

Hunk activated his Lion’s power reserves at a fraction of its usual strength and drifted more than flew in Lance’s general direction. Lance realized what was happening. He waited until Hunk was in close range and then Yellow suddenly went to full power, soaring away from the swarm as Lance blasted the drones with enough microwave radiation to leave the Galra fighters immobilized, floating in space like useless junk.

Pidge was flying at top speed, as if challenging the other half of the robot fighter swarm to keep up with her. The stupid machines took the bait and locked onto her trajectory with their targeting programs. Pidge flew directly towards Red Lion with the swarm on her tail, then veiled Green Lion with the Invisibility Cloak she had designed as she changed direction at the last possible moment. Lance hit them with a blast of microwave energy that disabled all but a few of them. The remaining fighters were picked off one by one by Hunk, who had been waiting in ambush for them just as Green Lion safely reappeared.

“Clear Day” is the beginning of an alternate universe Voltron Legendary Defender fanfiction series. It is one of two prequels to my story for the 5 Years of VLD event. Prequel 2 is called “The Greatest Gift” and my upcoming brand new story for the event is a big crossover called “Defenders of the Multiverse.”

I highly recommend that you read “Clear Day” if you think Plance should have been canon. This story describes one way it could have happened. 💙💚

In “Defenders of the Multiverse” Kallura has been canon since 1984. ❤️💖
