our member groups are based on different personality types. there is a description of each member group listed below. if you find that your character fits into more than one or you cannot choose between them, then just go with the group you feel your character is more closer to. these are more guidelines than strict placements.
DHARMA BUMS
the optimistics that think too much about their lives. they can be the lone wolves that don't want to be bothered or the types to sit in a small group and ponder life and the like. they can be seen with their heads buried in books and sitting alone on a bench, looking in deep thought; watching the world go by. they can come across as pretentious and sarcastic know-it-alls. they are natural born procrastinators. they like to think about things more than actually doing them. the types that take an hour to get out of bed, but when they do, they make the days theirs - unless they are suffering depression, then they can slowly slip into feeling like bell jars do. if you can motivate a dharma bum, you can be privy to great, long conversations and the most learning of companionship.
JUST KIDS
these are the innocents of the town. they tend to have a short attention span and are easily bored. they like to be on the go and to be entertained. they are also prone to confuse people with their ever changing stories, as they like to jump conversation ever so quickly, due to their overworking minds. which can be seen as either charming or annoying. they are the ones you can go to if you want a good time, a laugh, just company in general. they are never boring and seem to know everything about anything and anyone - prone to gossip and bitch, but they don't see it as a bad thing. they just can't help themselves. they are more talkers than listeners, but not all of them of course. just most. they can be indecisive on what they want to do in life. when they finally know what they want, they go all out.
PUBLIC ENEMIES
the name is explanatory. they are the outlaws. they are the drug pushers, the crime committers. they are seen as either a bit of crap on the end of a pair of shoes or to be feared. some could be hand in hand with the duluoz vanities when it comes to power and status. these people could use their criminal ways to gain both financially or for sheer social dominance. they could rub shoulders with the big wigs or do dirty work for them. or they could be just damn hopeless and are an annoyance to the town - in and out of prison etc.
SUBTERRANEANS
as the saying goes: they are the salt of the earth. subterraneans are caring, loyal, loving and kind to those around them, especially those they hold close and dear to their hearts. they would go out their way to help anyone. they are firm believers in treating people with respect, no matter from what walk of life they come from. they are the type to stand up for the weak child in high school against the towering bully. they may be seen as pushovers and can be taken advantage of. they either have a big group of friends or are content with one or two - even being a loner. though they prefer to be in company after restoring their energies of helping people.
BELL JARS
depressive prone and succumb to over thinking and often are in a state of seclusion. they are often looked at as eccentric and have wild and out ideas. they often feel like they are not of this world and don't seem to belong anywhere. misunderstood. they are also seen as rebels, hard to conform. they can either sink into the shadows and be humbled by their own shyness or flourish as revolutionaries and visionaries. some may feel hard done by, be it by society or personal life, and can take things out on others.
DESOLATION ANGELS
the indecisive’s that don't know what they want in life. not so much shy like the bell jars, but they also like to keep themselves to themselves if possible. though not afraid to mingle. often seen as drifters. they like to work and work hard, no frills - just get on with it. they are often ignored, looked down upon, pushed around, or belittled for their position. people usually would brush pass them in the street and not notice they are there. they are likely to move from place to place; never really having a home. but not all, of course. they often fall victim to the thinking they lack importance in the world because another will simply come along after they are gone.
DULUOZ VANITIES
the individuals obsessed with perfection and themselves. they like to keep busy and to be the center of attention. they are usually the leaders in society. striving for nothing less. they would often be the matriarch in the family or the ultimate bread winner. they often rely on their positions in order to get their own way. they would also tend to put their needs and feelings first before others. can be quite selfish but if you need anything done and done quickly, ask one of these types, they will help pull a few strings for you - if you are worthy of their time and are close. can be hard to get on their good side.
