It’s kind of a wild thought that anyone who’s older than 60, was part of a country under British Rule… We’re so YOUNG as a self-governed nation that it makes me feel like many of the ups and downs we have faced (and are currently facing) are growing pains… It puts a lot of things into perspective when you look at it that way. For reference, America is 186 years older than us and Japan may be 2,540 years older…WE ARE BABIES😭 Of all my perspectives, the most important is that we’ve truly only just begun. The spirit of our twin island is vibrant because she’s still fresh…and she needs to be better taken care of by her people, with a lot less excuses than we currently make… The future of our country’s effervescence truly will be defined by the next few decades and it is my honour to have a part in that responsibility. I hope I continue to honour her and represent her well…She was only in her 20s when I was born, but the years that followed solidified an unwavering pride for her potential So, to beautiful Trinidad & Tobago and to its people (of which I am happy to be one), Happy 60th Independence Day🥹✨🇹🇹 #madewithlightandlove #60thindependence #caribbeanmagic #sanianitos https://www.instagram.com/p/Ch7X2jzOZbI/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
