But yeah, it looks like the person in charge finally came clean about it and cancelled it but didn't really explain what it was so.

A group of bloggers got an invite a couple weeks ago to participate in "Throwback Thursdays" between 6-19 and 7-31 (the dates, hence the tag) where everyone was supposed to reblog old memes from the "golden age" (2012-2013) such as doitsu jokes, photoshop memes, anything with comic sans, and change urls to stuff like "doitsusdick" and tag posts with that tag and not tell anyone what it was.

It's really sad that people got so upset about not knowing what it was because, as you can see, it wasn't anything more than dumb jokes. I'm not sure why it  had to be a secret or why only older blogs with more follwers were invited to participate. But I think we've all come to the agreement that the whole thing was poorly planned and a lot of drama and confusion over nothing really.

Let us never speak of this again.

So much hate

Guys, I didn't even know about this 619-731 thing until it was over. And it didn't NEED to be over. But sadly, hate wormed its way into a place where people were just trying to have fun. I woke up this morning to my dash full of rants about how someone thought the hetalia fandom is so broken or how the bloggers were just trying to have a good time. Either way, I don't like to see hate on my dash. It just makes me think about the world and how truly miserable this planet we live on has become. I was scrolling through the 619-731 tag and I had to get through 4 pages of hate (probably more) to get to the memes. I laugh my ass off at them. I love these people who put their creativity into this type of stuff and just put a burst of colour into the dull, dull world. Thank you for everyone who made the memes and had fun, despite the hate. I'm sorry for the hate you might have received and truly, I wish we could avoid it. But its the unavoidable truth. There is always going to be that person who won't like you. In any situation. And you try to ignore it but its always there, like an itch you can't reach. And then you're finally so frustrated you have to find some way to get rid of that itch, right? Well hate is a permanent itch, always there, always hurting, always in bold letters in your mind. I really hope this message gets across to all types of fandoms and just everyone who would take the time to read this. This is not directed just to hetalia but its what made me write it. If you've read this whole thing, thank you for staying. We can overcome this guys. We can. And we will. Maybe not today. Probably not tomorrow. But someday. And I promise, it'll be wonderful.

Apparently they are doing that to bring back the old hetalia days when the fandom wasnt shitty. Did you ever wonder why it was the popular blogs? Because theyve been around the longest and acquired the most followers in that time. It would make sense if they missed the "old hetalia fandom"

yeah i just saw someone explain it.. thank you for explaining it though!! I just hope that this doesn't turn into too huge of a problem, yknow? theres some people fighting about it ;A; right now we're trying to make everything more positive for us (like with positivetalia and hetaliapositivityproject) and it wouldn't help if we had another bad experience.
