#6744 À La Fût Grosse Bête Noire Luxuriante (Canada) Stout Wednesday! This is a pretty wild BA brew from ALF - it’s an 8.5% coffee stout with lactose (the coffee is Yirgacheffe from Brûlerie Mékinoise), vanilla and cacao, aged for 5 months in Sagamore Rye Whiskey, Sazerac Whiskey and Marker’s Mark Bourbon barrels. Damn. It pours jet black with a beige head and a toasty, funky nose, the body is a little thinner than you’d expect for a BA stout but there’s a ton of flavours, the boozy, oaky liquor is complimented with the vanilla vibes, some fruity coffee notes, it’s almost tangy with red fruit elements, balanced sweetness, with a smooth, dry finish.
