11 with Mukuro/Gokudera, please.
Hello, thank you for requesting and for being patient! This is set in TYL, I hope you like it.
The raindrops drummed against the umbrella Mukuro held above their heads. Had he been alone, Gokudera would’ve appreciated the soothing sound which only made his annoyance raise through the roof now.
‘’Why so prickly, dear?’’ Mukuro asked, coating the last word with a mocking sweetness. The jerk was pushing his luck and he knew it, so Gokudera did what Mukuro hated most and ignored the remark.
The silence which fell between them up allowed Gokudera to replay the situation which eventually lead him to the restaurant with Mukuro.
‘’It has to be a storm and a mist,’’ Tsunayoshi insisted, his eyebrows knitted in worry as they always were nowadays, ‘’and you need a good enough disguise so you won’t be recognized.’’
‘’What kind of disguise could we possibly have at a restaurant?’’ Gokudera huffed, crossing his arms. Tenth or not, he didn’t love the idea of spending time with Mukuro. Alone.
‘’We are obviously there to celebrate our anniversary as a couple.’’
Gokudera snapped his head towards the mist guardian, cheeks flaring, ‘’I’m not dating you, I’m not even going to pretend to date you.’’
‘’That actually sounds like a good disguise, Gokudera,’’ Tsunayoshi admitted bashfully. Gokudera couldn’t stand when he gave him that apologetic smile - as if he ever had anything to be sorry for in the first place. ‘’If it isn’t too much bother, stay at the restaurant on a lookout until you see our target. Pretending to be on a date is the least suspicious disguise.’’
A cold, clammy hand brought him back to reality as it grasped Gokudera’s own hand across the table. In an instinct, Gokudera pulled away from the touch, glaring at Mukuro who simply gave him a slow smile.
‘’Darling, you’re awfully quiet tonight,’’ Mukuro took a sip of his wine, winking at Gokudera who nearly gagged at the gesture, ‘’why don’t you have some wine and relax a bit?’’
‘’You’re right,’’ Gokudera said and chugged the glass of white wine in one go, motioning for the waitress to pour him another one which also was gone in a matter of seconds, ‘’I’m too sober for this.’’
At that Mukuro laughed, a genuine laugh Gokudera doesn’t think he had ever heard before. His heart fluttered in response but he blamed it on the white wine.
‘’Delightful as always, I see,’’ Mukuro raised an amused brow. ‘’But don’t get carried away with the wine, sweetheart. I need you to stay sober for later.’’
Gokudera rolled his eyes at his suggestive tone as if Mukuro’s plans for him later didn’t involve beating down some annoying corrupted mafioso after they gain the information they needed.
‘’I can hardly wait,’’ Gokudera replied dryly before picking up the menu.
The night couldn’t be over fast enough.
