- Pears are the worst fruit. They smell funny, taste worse, and the texture is gritty and gross.
- I really enjoy The Council of Elrond. And Tolkien’s dialogue.
- The way some self-identified prolifers treat and deal with sexual abuse and its victims is despicable, as came out forcefully among Trumpites after this latest “Trump’s an abusive misogynist” scandal (the sub-group who insist that not only do we have to vote for Trump because his speechwriters have given him some vaguely pro-life lines, but that he’s some kind of conservative hero.) There are a lot of skulls I would crack - verbally, of course - given half a chance.

-Battle Scars by Paradise Fears-Oh Holy Night (the choir at my church sings it on Christmas eve. When the entire choir comes in at “fall on your knees” I literally start trembling)-Burn from Hamilton-there’s this one part from the How to Train your Dragon soundtrack when the music just swells and Hiccup and Toothless are flying and Astrid just says “Go.” and yeah I get chills-that part in Nonstop (Hamilton again) when they go “How do you write like tomorrow won’t arrive? How do you write like you need it to survive? How do you write every second you’re alive?”-basically anything by Ceili Rain
well that’s pretty eclectic mix. I get deeply moved by music so there’s a LOT more I could say but I feel like that’s a pretty good sampler xD

14: Name a book where the movie/tv adaption actually was better than the original But this is so HARD! I recently watched Stardust for the first time, having completely forgotten the plot of the book, and I really enjoyed it, but I don’t actually remember the book enough to compare. I do really like the Lord of the Rings movies (but not The Hobbit trilogy tragedy.) I can easily tell you that the worst adaptation ever is Ella Enchanted, may God have mercy on their souls.Oh!! The Princess Diaries! The first movie. It’s wonderful! The book was interesting, but didn’t grip me the way the movie did. Also, maybe not better, but definitely “on par” - The Princess Bride. I’m also super super fond of Anne of Green Gables with Megan Follows (though increasingly less so of the sequels) which I suppose in some ways might be on par or better than the book.
18: Which character from a book is the most like you?I’m not sure there is one. I suppose I’m a little like Hermione, and a little like Tiffany Aching. I always struggle with this question. When I was a kid, I was very much like Lucy Pevensie (although with some serious Susan streaks.) Adult reflection prompts me to say, no doubt I have a lot of Edmund in me, too.
20: Best summer read?For some reason I always get the urge to read childhood staples like Anne of Green Gables (but the movie is a Christmas movie for me, go figure), the Little House books, or heavy, rural summer coming of age stories like To Kill a Mockingbird and Where the Red Fern Grows (which isn’t really a summer story, but it is in my head.)

14. Name a book where the movie/tv adaption actually was better than the originalOh crap um. This is going entirely off of my impressions of Emma from my first read when I was 16 and it was my first Austen, but I think the Romola Garai/JLM adaptation of Emma is amazing and I love it and let’s just say I did not have the same feelings about the book. I do very much need to reread it, though.
16. If you could bring three books to a deserted island which would you bring and why?UM. I’m gonna steal 2/3 of your answer, the Bible and complete LOTR set would definitely take some time and be good studies, and then ummmmm this kind of question is so much easier when it’s like, bring three things and I could bring my kindle and a...magical unlimited power source? I cannot answer this it’s too much commitment.
18. Which character from a book is the most like you?I can’t actually think of a character in a book I relate to???? At least not a lot. I often feel like the slightly less interesting, plainer best friends to many novels’ protagonists. One who isn’t actually quite up for the adventure of the heroine, but likes to dream about them? Like Diana Barry in AOGG or Mabel in the Diviners. But the first time I read a book and really felt connected to a character was Audrey in Audrey, Wait! by Robin Benway - not because I’m much of anything like her, but because of the way the feeling of music was described. it was like “oh my god someone put it into words”
