R.I.P. Nikola Tesla
Nikola Tesla was born exactly at midnight during a lightning storm. According to the story told by his family, the midwife declared the lightning a bad omen, a sign that “this child will be a child of darkness”. But Tesla’s mother only replied: “No. He will be a child of light.” He became a genius, the wizard of electricity, who was fascinated by the number 3 and numbers in relation to it (he washed his hands three times, walked three times around a building before entering it and used 18 napkins while dining), he couldn’t touch other people’s hair, was disgusted by earrings (especially pearls), he got sick by the smell of peaches and before every meal, he would calculate the cubic space that the food would occupy in his stomach. He never cared for money, his life goal was to build a worldwide free electricity net with renewable energy for everyone. He never experimented, like Edison did, on animals or humans, but tested all his inventions on himself, crashing the city generator of Colorado Springs several times, scaring the shit out of Mark Twain and other famous people, who he invited to his “little shows” that he liked to close with sparks bursting out of his hair and his skin shining blue. Nikola Tesla died alone and poor in room no. 3327 on the 33rd floor of a hotel in New York. Most of his belongings were given to his family, but until this day the US government keeps some of his documents secret. source: http://www.spiegel.de/einestages/erfinder-nikola-tesla-meister-der-blitze-a-951294.html
