A "gladiator" and the Pantheon
Monday, July 27 So I guess it's a good sign that I could lose track of time on the cruise… It was actually Wednesday that we were in Kusadasi! We made our last port of call at Katakalon, near Olympia, in Greece, on Thursday. Thena and the girls and I took a taxi to Olympia, and roamed the ruins there, while my parents and Cherie checked out a fascinating museum in town, and Kerin hit the beach with Imani. The museum was about Greeks technical inventions from the time of Archimedes. It demonstrated how advanced they were in terms of lifting weights, measuring gold, lifting and pouring water, musical instruments, measuring time, theatrics, weaponry, and even tricks used to fool the public (particularly at the temples). The beach was delightful – we took a dip on the way back from Olympia. That evening was the second formal dress dinner – fun for getting pictures of us all dolled up. Friday we were at sea all day, and had fun playing around on the ship. The girls did some rock climbing on the wall on the 10th deck, and then we played a round of mini golf. Mom was the champ, coming in 2 strokes below anyone else. At lunch time, there was a World’s Sexiest Man contest on the poolside. Thena volunteered to help judge, but it was hilarious for all of us watching as well. In the evening we went to see the final evening show. The cruise director, as MC, spoke about how we would all have to get used to normal life again. She also joked about no longer having to wonder about the “monster” in the toilet – they flushed very loudly – and once again being able to do a 360 in the shower without touching a single wall (picture a half-sized phone booth). Saturday morning, we disembarked and returned to the train station to head for Rome. It rained part of the way, in buckets at one point, but Rome is as hot and sunny (and humid) as everywhere else we have been. Yesterday we got an early start (apparently along with thousands of other tourists too) going to see some of the ancient sites of Rome. We started off at the Colosseum: really cool, very crowded, and with a cute hedgehog hanging around near the bathrooms. We then walked through the Roman Forum* – many at ruins, arches, and other remains of ancient Rome’s main square - and on to Piazza Venezia. We topped it all off with the Pantheon – built 2000 years ago, and in continual use ever since. All right, we actually topped it off with a round of gelato… 😋 * the picture below those of the Colosseum is of the Temple of the Vestals

And as a true klutz, I can tell you, the ground hurts.
Dear Arden,
I have to write again. Thank you for this show. This show has given me some of the best friends. I've been texting a group of five girls (counting me) I met because of this amazing show. I think the friends I've met in this fandom are the miracle I've been praying for Arden. I love these people. I have amazing support from them and I just... I have real friends- more than I have ever had. And it's all because of Teen Wolf. Love, Pam PS I will always be grateful.
Dear Arden,
Tonight was rough. I dunno I… I got a text from my friend I babysit for that she didn’t need me tomorrow and I just got hit with a wave of anxiety because she won’t need me much longer and it’s my only money source while I go back to school. So I nearly had a breakdown about everything going on. I just… I’m sad and lonely and tired and tired of being those things. I see my psychiatrist Wednesday and I’m sort of nervous. Maybe he’ll up my meds or something and that idea makes me nervous even though it would probably help. I mean this is one of the darkest periods I’ve ever been in. It scares me, Arden. What do I do? Where do I go from here? I'm worried. I don't know what to do. What if I'm so needy everyone leaves me? Oh, Arden, I feel completely scared and hopeless. I just don't know what to do. Love, Pam PS Your performance tonight was spectacular. Thank you for Kira. She and Stiles are the characters most like me I think. I can't express what they mean to me. Thank you Arden. You're one of the only things I can count on.

Entry 272: 7-27-15:
Today was a bad day. I told Alvaro that he and I needed a break because of some shit and he was just so okay with it. And I started bawling at practice and told him I didn't mean it later, but he did and I went to kiss him and he was like "Kayla, we're not together" and I started crying again. Ugh. Eventually, he told me that he's willing to give me one more chance. Obviously I took it. I just... He's my best friend. I don't know who I'd be if I lost him. I've tried to be sweet all tonight to him to prove a point, but I just hope it's not temporary.
