My mother is visiting me for the weekend and she found some wild blackberry bushes hidden behind my apartment and she went and picked most of the berries, and she got quite a bit, almost 4 cups.
As soon as she started i kind of felt uncomfortable. I went up and addressed the bush, apologizing for the intrusion but thanking it for its' berries.
It actually kind of... screamed at me?? I felt a lot of fear and rage. I tried to calm it down, and gave it some of my energy as a gift, hoping to appease it with an exchange. But it didn't seem to take it, and continued to scream with rage and fear.
What's interesting, though, is a little after we started my mom complained that she had a little headache, and then as we continued it progressed, until when we were finished she said that "it's about to turn into a migraine." Then, as we walked back to my apartment, her headache vanished.
TLDR always ask permission from a (wild) plant before you take from it; try and give it a gift or an offering beforehand, and if it doesn't consent - it's probably best to walk away.
