Exhausted

Cosima isn’t sleeping. The last three nights have been worse than newborn times because back then I could feed her three hourly and she would go back to sleep. Now, she doesn’t actually really want or need a feed, she just wants to be awake and with me- so there’s nothing I can do to stop her crying, loudly, unless I hold her. I find her screaming and standing up in her cot half a dozen times a night, covered in snot and tears. Poor little love.

She is doing every bad sleep trick in the book. Harder to settle at bed and nap times. Multiple night wakings. Feeding at night (although I just saw HV and she told me to stop that as she doesn’t need it since she’s on three meals and stopped night feeds a month ago. She said to offer water and just soothe her). Early morning waking. Crying for no apparent reason (although could be teeth- or HV says it’s separation anxiety) Oh yes and she will only nap if I walk with her in sling or put her in the car. In the cot she does 15-25 mins. So no rest for mummy in the daytime either. I’m walking right now, hence having thumbs to type this.

She’s crying A LOT day and night. Nose is running but no other cold symptoms. Not wanting much milk. Her food intake goes up and down but I think that’s normal and her weight is doing better since weaning so I do trust she knows what she needs (eek! I do! I really do...am I convincing anyone yet?!)
