Being a gearhead and one who would never call for help when on the road, I like to be prepared for just about anything. I keep my vehicles full of tools to help me or a friend in need while on the road. For the last few years I have been carrying a large jump starting battery in the room under my truck seat. It has come in handy a few times, more for others than myself, but we seem to count on it more and more. NOCO has made a line of jump starters that can now start large diesel trucks, but more importantly, they will store easily in any vehicle.
We have done many reviews on the different NOCO models and sizes of jump starters and all have performed well. We preach to always purchase a larger size that what is needed only to be safe in any situation. Our tests have included starting vehicles with no battery in them, just the NOCO jump starter. This test, although not recommended, lets us know without a doubt, exactly what this small jump starter is capable of. Our viewers also know that we are starting vehicles that are realistic and do not have charged batteries.
The GB150 is a large unit capable of starting many cars before needing a charge. It has been designed to jump a vehicle with a 10 liter engine or smaller and we have tested it on our Ford 6.7 liter powerstroke diesel. The GB150 was easily able to start that truck without issue all on its own. We feel that is a great testimonial to its power, but have to caution that we have not tested this unit on larger tractor trailers.
When you open the box, you could not miss the yellow sticker telling you to charge the battery fully before use. Like the other models, the GB150 has LED lights located on the end of the unit, opposing the direction of the battery clamps connect. They have six modes (100%, 50%, 10%, SOS, Blink and Strobe). The unit has a USB output so it can be used to charge or power anything with a USB cable 2.1 amp or below. You can also plug in the included 12 volt 15 amp cigarette lighter adaptor for more power and options. Each input and output has a nice rubber cover that securely fits in place to keep out dust and moisture. It is a pretty impressive unit that gives the feeling of quality.
The NOCO GB150 is a 12 Volt Lithium Ion battery pack with a Peak Amp Rating of 4,000A and an Actual Power Output of 22,500 joules 3s. This small unit is capable of starting a 10.0 liter gasoline engine or 10.0 liter diesel engine per NOCO. The GB150 is designed for professional users, but this works with all standard vehicle applications such as cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, lawn & garden, and more. This unit is spark proof and reverse polarity protected, so it is safe for people who might not have a great understanding of cars and batteries.

While the GB70 might be my favorite NOCO jump starter based on size and power, this unit will be the one i take with me for the long trips. The options it has allow for general mechanic work and its size allows for multiple jump starts before one would need to think of charging it. Power wise, this fits the professional who wants a nice unit with options to allow them to work through the month on a single charge, but the reliability to jump up to 30 cars in a day before it needed a charge. Simply a great product for people who want to have a large backup battery with them.
