Wake Up Call

Booster Gold/Reader, ≈250 words Request: 20 for Booster Loser Gold (love to see more content for him, you're doing God's work 🫡) By: Anon A/N: I cooked this one up with extra loser boyfriend vibes, just for you.

The first thing you notice upon sleepily opening your eyes is his baby blues, wide with panic as they stare back at you, but you’re so damn tired; before you can flip the switch in your brain from sleeping to awake, you shut your eyes again abruptly, allowing yourself to be lulled back into the land of nod before Booster starts to gently shake your shoulders.

“C’mon, c’mon, c’mon babe, wake up.” When your eyes flicker open again, he’s closer, close enough that you can smell the mint of his toothpaste on his breath. Drawn in by proximity, you lean up just enough to press a sleepy kiss to his lips. It only lasts a second before he draws back, pink in his cheeks but no less urgent in his attempt to awaken you. “You need to wake up because I can’t do this without you.”

“What?” Finally, you start to blink the sleep out of your eyes, somewhat exasperated to be so unceremoniously woken on your birthday of all days. “What do you need me to do?”

Sensing your annoyance, he cracks his cutest, most boyish smile, lifting his shoulders in a pose that would evoke *fawning laughter* from a studio audience. “Well, you see, I was gonna make you breakfast in bed, but you have a gas stove, and I might have blown up part of your kitchen.”
