So I recently rewatched the 1973 Jesus Christ Superstar movie and—

—Judas’ jumpsuit has to have been inspired by Elvis, right? The fringe ‘wings’, the low-cut neckline, even the belt all feel very reminiscent of the king of Rock and Roll.

The 70s were before my time, but given this movie/soundtrack is a rock opera about the King of Kings, and came out during Elvis’ lifetime, it wouldn’t surprise me if he did inspire the look.
