morning, angels ! the admins just wanted to take a minute out to wish everyone at 1973hq a happy two year anniversary ! we hit this milestone on the 12th, so please excuse our lateness ! we just wanted to take a minute to thank all of our lovely members, old and new, for joining this family and making it feel like exactly that ! we wouldn’t be where we are today if not for you guys, and we appreciate you today and every day. ❤️

WEEKLY UPDATE #1

Ladies, gentleman, and all those who do not conform to societal gender norms: this is your first weekly update of what’s been going on in the mansion, or as we like to call it: THE HIGHLIGHTS REEL. So, without further ado, here is a quick summary of recent major ( or just generally interesting ) events !

Early in the week, little Damian Wayne let a skunk into the mansion and let’s just say some of the residents were NOT HAPPY... especially a certain grouchy empath. The Batspawn better be counting himself lucky Raven’s had her budding relationship with Spidey as a distraction. We can only imagine what might’ve happened otherwise...

A fair few FAMILY SECRETS have been spilled recently, namely in the Lehnsherr-Maximoff-Dane-Wagner-Shepherd-Kaplan clan ( who really need a new name, by the way ). TJ revealed to Charles that Mystique is her grandmother and Lorna confessed her relation to Wanda. We can’t wait to see how the Scarlet Witch takes that one.

Our telepathic host has decided reading minds is WAY COOLER than walking and came off his serum the other day. Not much news there yet, but he and a certain metal manipulator seem to be on the verge of reconciliation. It’s about time, right ?? We’ll be keeping an eye on those two.

In more amorous news, we’ve seen some blossoming romances this week, from Scott and Bobby’s little tryst to Gwen and Bart’s fluff-a-thon. One that’s especially noteworthy is the WONDERBAT smooch - that’s been a long time coming.

We do, however, have one question on our minds: how long can Steve and Bucky keep up the ‘NO HOMO’ RODEO ?? Seriously, boys, this is getting painful. Stop acting like teenagers. You’re in your nineties, for god’s sake !

Please make sure to send any and all hiatus requests through the main and not admin’s character accounts or personal discords.

as you all know, we’re very lenient with hiatuses because we understand that life can be unpredictable and at times, the muse just isn’t there, though it would really help us out on our end if we refrained from sending hiatus requests through the main discord chat. the chat is always moving and due to work and other responsibilities, an admin isn’t always on to see it, and we’d hate to put you on activity check / open your character(s) due to a miscommunication. in dire circumstances, we’d even accept a quick message to one of the admin’s discords if it is really urgent and you aren’t able to get on to request one properly. thanks so much for listening, and please give this a like once you’ve read !

may, 2019

during the rebuild of genosha, a discovery was found in one of the abandoned laboratories. a torn, incomplete list of ingredients for a substance marked as the hope serum. after more digging around, our heroes discovered that the narcotic had been tested on mutant and metahuman prisoners - alive and deceased. the next part of the footnotes they uncovered was that the US government had already ordered several shipments of this new drug, one the x-men believe is a cure for mutantism and to suppress metahuman abilities.

meanwhile, back in new york city, there have been rumors going around saying that there is a new drug on the black market, one able to make your powers undetectable to the sentinels. not much is known about the drug, but the few that have taken it have claimed that if you're human - it heightens your abilities. there are side effects of course, but those trying to get hold of the new narcotic choose not to disclose these to their customers.

information begins to spread in the medical world, mutants and metahumans all around the country suddenly receive letters from their doctors saying that there is a new procedure on offer to patients wishing to rid themselves of their mutations.

back in genosha, the heroes are issuing out missions to retrieve and destroy the shipments containing the hope serum all across the globe, however - your character has a choice. they can either oblige the order from the others or take the cure themselves.

characters have the choice to complete these missions or try the hope serum for themselves

this can be through the shipments, the hospital or black market. they can destroy the quantity from these sellers too

all effects of the narcotic are temporary and last no longer than 48 hours, if your character does wish to take the cure

if they do, possible side effects of the drug can be decided by you

you’re more than welcome to incorporate this into starters or any thread you have going !
