I think it's so hard for me to see an example of someone who doesn't care an ounce to join any of these collaborations is because this is someone who has so many opportunities served to her on a daily basis that she declines even to network because she doesn't need to network for more opportunities, and it was such a stark difference from me networking, doing free work, doing low paid work, to be able to have more on my CV and network/connections who might think of me for opportunities and hustling my ASS off in order to have a singular opportunity, to only ever be recommended the shittiest jobs and have actually good opportunities yanked from me and given to non-marginalized folks on the same team. That highlight of privilege really, really bothered me, and I acknowledge that with a huge damned amount of self-compassion instead of being shamed into this "why are you jealous of another woman" vibe that I keep getting for highlighting the effect of intersectionality / more than one marginalized identity and what privilege looks like.
