When his hometown was destroyed and his parents was killed, he was taken to Shirasaki. The very first thing Kurogane did after waking up was to ask Tomoyo to bury the sword with his mother, because his father no longer had a body. There was a quiet, restrained calm in the expression of that teenage boy, completely opposite to the fury last night. He lost his mind for just one night, perhaps the only time in his life, and then returned to reality almost immediately, within just a few minutes of opening his eyes, in an unfamiliar place.
In Outo, Kurogane let Syaoran go to meet Seishirou and made it clear that if Syaoran did not come back, he would take next action. It shows that he had already thought about what may happen. When he concluded that Fay and Syaoran had been killed, he calmly went to fight Seishirou. Knowing that killing would weaken his own power, Kurogane was still willing to fight Seishirou to the death.
In Tokyo, Kurogane was the one who asked Yuuko if there was a way to save Fay. He accepted without hesitation the price of a blood-bound contract and the hatred that would come with it in order to save Fay. When the group was falling apart, Kurogane was also the first one who spoke frankly about the need for each person to decide what they would do next.
In Celes, Kurogane knew exactly what need to be done to pull Fay out of Ashura’s grasp and out of that world. Whether it meant killing Ashura or sacrificing his own arm, each action was carried out swiftly, in a single moment, with full awareness of the consequences that would fall upon him.
Perhaps this character is easy to misunderstand at first, seen as hot-headed or short-sighted. But he is not like that. He cannot foresee the future nor know the secrets of the past. He is fully aware of what's happening right now, he considers his choices in silence, accepts the cost. Once his resolve is set, he follows through - steady, deliberate, and precise. I trust Kurogane in every situation.

Ở Outo, Kurogane để Syaoran đi gặp Seishirou và hẹn là nếu không thấy cậu ta về thì sẽ hành động tiếp, rõ ràng là có suy tính trước cho các trường hợp. Khi xác định là Fay và Syaoran bị giết rồi, anh vẫn bình thản đến chỗ Seishirou chiến tiếp. Xác định khi giết ai đó thì sức mạnh của bản thân sẽ giảm đi, nhưng vẫn sẵn sàng tử chiến với Seishirou.
Ở Tokyo, Kurogane là người chủ động hỏi Yuuko có cách nào cứu Fay không, không đắn đo mà chấp nhận cái giá ràng buộc bằng máu và việc bị ghét khi cứu Fay. Cả nhóm rệu rã, Kurogane là người đầu tiên thẳng thắn đề cập đến việc mỗi người nên xác định sẽ làm gì trong thời gian tới.
Ở Celes, Kurogane hiểu rất rõ cần phải làm gì để kéo Fay ra khỏi tay Ashura và thoát khỏi thế giới đó. Dù là giết Ashura hay tự hy sinh cánh tay của mình, mỗi hành động đều được thực hiện nhanh gọn trong khoảnh khắc, với sự nhận thức đầy đủ về hậu quả sẽ giáng xuống chính bản thân anh.
Có lẽ nhân vật này ban đầu rất dễ bị hiểu lầm là nóng nảy hay thiển cận. Nhưng không phải vậy. Anh nào đâu biết trước tương lai hay những bí mật quá khứ. Chỉ là anh nhận thức rõ tình hình hiện tại, âm thầm cân nhắc lựa chọn, chấp nhận cái giá phải trả. Một khi đã quyết là làm đến cùng - bình tĩnh, có chủ ý và chính xác.
