How GE’s 7FA gas turbine helps TransCanada generate 20% of New York City’s power.
Located in Long Island City, Queens, New York, just across the East River from Manhattan, the massive Ravenswood power generating station supplies more than 20% of the city's power. The generating station, which supplies more than 2,400 megawatts to the city, includes the Ravenswood Unit 40. Backed by GE's 7FA heavy-duty gas turbine, Unit 40 is the largest gas fired plant in the city.
