So @rockstar.kristin and I found a couple estate sales yesterday and made out with some vinyl, CDs and cassettes, as well as books, art and toys, woop!! I’ll find myself grabbing records based on the cover if it looks cool or interesting, even if I haven’t heard it, and that was the case here. Worked out nicely for #7inchsunday and bonus points for being church related technically 😂 According to their website, Catholic Girls was the first all female band from New Jersey to be signed to a major label. This 7inch has the song ‘Private School’ and the b side God Made You For Me; Curiously though, this copy upon dirtier inspection is a promo copy, and only has ‘Private School’ on both sides.. flick through to take a look. I’m thinking of doing a #7inchsunday for Sundays around here, so I can start giving a little love to my 7 inch stash! So my 2021 Holiday ‘Snowflathe’ from @joyfulnoiserecs finally came in!! This one is @whywithaqmark performing Auld Lang Syne ❄️ From the Joyful Noise website: “Once again, we’ll be offering snowflake-shaped lathe-cut 7" records (AKA “Snowflathes”) to commemorate this mighty celebration. This year however, the Snowflathes are ultra-limited. Usually we cut 100 copies of each holiday song, but due to pandemic-related supply issues and the physical limitations of lathe machine (as well as our desire for Moose to have a good holiday with his family instead of becoming a sweatshop worker), this year only 200 total Snowflathes will be made across all bands!” What’s on your turntable today?
