His tone and expression were comforting despite the situation; it was the same exact way he would have reacted before their separation and that was enough to make her feel safe. And to feel safe was exactly why she had looked for him instead of anyone else, even with everything that had happened and was happening between them.   “I’d… rather not. Not yet. I wanted…” she paused, having trouble finding the right words, her voice more shaken than she had expected. “Can I stay with you? Just for a couple of minutes?”
