Happy lesbian day to all of our lesbian followers!
(Did you know that’s no less than 1 in 10?)
As it’s LGBTQ+ history month, we’ll have you know the origins of this day are in New Zealand where it started during the eighties, with the first Australian event held at Collingwood Town Hall in Melbourne on October 13th 1990. They held a market, had readings, and there was live music and dancing. In the years after Melbourne lesbians celebrated the day around October 8th. It is now a day for lesbians, wlw and their allies all over the world, to connect and celebrate lesbian history, diversity and culture.
That’s why today we want to celebrate all lesbians and wlw in this fandom - you are loved!
