Berserker 2 is coming out

The release of Berserker 2: On campaign against the Abodrites as a magazine in Danish will happen at the Nørrebronx festival in Copenhagen march the 3rd 2018. Very soon afterwards, Berserker 2 will be published as an ebook in English.

Berserker is a comic about the early, heathen Viking Age, and volume 3 is already in production. Berserker 2 - On campaign against the Abodrites is part two of the series about the viking warrior Saxnôt, who is initiated as a berserker, a kind of holy warrior. He joins service at the King of the Danes, Godfred, together with his braindamaged brother Odinkar.  The Europe of the year 808 is dominated by Charlemagne´s Frankish empire. The Franks have conquered Saxony, which is located south of the territory of the Danes. They are a seemingly invincible foe for the unorganized nordic kingdom, which Denmark was at this time.  In Berserker 2 - On campaign against the Abodrites, Saxnôt and Odinkar are going to war with king Godfred and the army of the Danes. They are sailing with the fleet, while Rurik - the guardian of the Danevirke rampart - is on the rampage in the hinterland of the Abodrites, thus binding a huge part of their forces. The campaign is aiming at the trading place and harbour Reric, where the great battle will take place.

I´m inking the picture of the city Reric on the shore of the Baltic sea. Reric has been an important city of the Abodrite Slavs in 800 AD, and archeologists believe, that they have found the remains of this legendary city at Gross Strömkendorf in modern day Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. Reric is the ancestor of modern day Wismar and has a slavic castle from the same period nearby.
